Mission towards zero waste

At Pelotan, our mission is to protect every outdoor athlete from the sun and so at the very core of our business is an absolute passion for the natural world in which we train, race and recover. Due to regulatory requirements, our products have to be in HDPE bottles so we encourage responsible use and recycling of these and look to make a net positive impact on our plastic use wherever possible.
After joining 1% for the Planet, we removed all plastic from our packaging and moving to paper and card. As such we reduced our consumption to the absolute minimum (the legally required usage of HDPE in bottles) and ensure that this is entirely recyclable. We want to go one step further and make a net positive impact by removing MORE plastic from the environment than we contribute.
We currently use 100% recyclable materials for our shipment packaging in the form of paper and card alternatives. It is a more expensive method of shipping but aligns with our vision.
At Pelotan, our mission is to protect every outdoor athlete from the sun and so at the very core of our business is an absolute passion for the natural world in which we train, race and recover. We recently joined the 1 % for the Planet initiative, pledging at least 1 % of ourannual sales to non - profits focused on the environment and becoming plastic positive is a source of great pride for our business as we encourage people to safely enjoy nature through sport. We are also conscious of our impact throughout the supply chain - we selected a manufacturing partner with an eye on their social and environmental credentials, specifically that they do not test on animals (and do not purchase any raw materials from anyone who does), are fully vegan friendly and are ISO 14001 – Environmental Management accredited, with a production facility possessing an A grade for energy efficiency and a photovoltaic roof system that reduces carbon output by over 30,000 KG of Co2 per year.
